Stage 1
We recommend that when the pothos nodes arrive, you put them in water. Due to shipping, the plants maybe weak upon arrival, so watering the plants quickly is important. You want to submerge the nodes and leave the leafs above the water line. Place your plants in warm, area with indirect sunlight.
Stage 2
Change the water every couple of days. Once you have root growth and new plant growth on your nodes, you are ready to plant your nodes. This will take approximately three weeks
Stage 3
There are two methods to planting the pothos, hydroponic (in water and clay pebbles) or in soil.
To Plant in Clay Pebbles and Water:
- Find a container large enough to hold all your nodes.
- Soak clay pebbles in water and K-L-N rooting concentrate for 24 hours prior to planting.
- Bundle together your nodes vertically with the leaves pointing up.
- Holding the bundle, place the nodes and roots into the container and add clay pebbles gently around the roots to hold your bundle together.
- Water your plant with water containing a K-L-N rooting concentration. Add water covering the roots, nodes and clay pebbles.
- You now have the foundation of your new plant. The existing leaves are the crown and vines will start growing off of the plant.
- Place your plant in warm, bright area out of direct sunlight. This can be indoors or outdoors.
To Plant in Soil:
- Find a pot large enough to hold all your nodes. We recommend using a pot with drainage holes that is slightly larger than your node bundle to allows some root growth.
- Prepare your soil. Use a mix of 75% potting soil and 25% sphagnum moss .
- Bundle together your nodes vertically with the leaves pointing up.
- Add a layer of the soil mixture to the bottom pf the pot.
- Holding the bundle, place the nodes and roots into the pot and add soil gently around the roots to hold your bundle together. Press soil down gently once it covers the nodes and roots.
- Thoroughly water your plant with water containing a K-L-N rooting concentration. Any excess water with escape out of the pots drainage holes, you want your soil moist but no standing water inside the pot.
- You now have the foundation of your new plant. The existing leaves are the crown and vines will start growing off of the plant.
- Place your plant in warm, bright area out of direct sunlight. This can be indoors or outdoors.
